The BergHOFF Leo Graphite multifunctional scissors are 26cm and supplied with a protective storage sleeve. Larger and heavier than standard kitchen shears, they handle poultry joints, tough packaging, seafood shells and bunches of herbs.
The sleeve matters more than it sounds: it protects the blades in a drawer and stops you reaching into a drawer full of loose sharp edges.

Frequently asked questions
What size kitchen scissors should I buy? Around 20 to 23cm suits general daily use. A larger 26cm pair gives more leverage for poultry, bone and heavy packaging, at the cost of being less nimble for fine work.
Why do kitchen scissors come with a sleeve? The sleeve protects the cutting edges from knocking against other utensils in a drawer, which keeps them sharper for longer. It also makes reaching into the drawer safer.
Can these go in the dishwasher? Hand washing is recommended for kitchen scissors. Dishwasher detergent and heat accelerate dulling and can cause corrosion at the pivot point.
